Evolution of Halloween Fashion

Undeniably, Halloween is a season that calls for its own fashion line. What with the Halloween costume parties getting thrown here and there, requiring all children to wear boys’ and girls’ costumes as well as the grown-ups to put on men’s and women’s costumes.

Halloween costumes used to be an exclusive thing for children who dress-up and go trick or treating at night. Discount costumes sold before were composed of traditional creatures from folklore like dwarves, goblins and fairies. Girls’ costumes of the past trends are characters like Frankenstein, mummies and princesses and witches. These costumes are still popular today; they may even be called Halloween classics.

Today, the variety of costumes has increased. Cartoon heroes, movie characters and celebrities have become popular Halloween fashion statements. Women’s costumes include a wide range of get-ups from the ever illustrious Wonder Woman to the eccentric fashion of Cher. Men and boys would want to look like King Arthur, Megatron or the lead singer of their favorite rock band.
As with anything related to fashion, Halloween fashion also moves through trends and fads.
